50+ Purses and Bundles of Toiletries Collected for WomenSafe

Angie of Yogi's Closet and Angel Burton Development Director WomenSafe

We are so grateful for the support we received from our community.

We collected 50+ purses and bundles of toiletries, toothbrushes, toothpaste and deodorant for WomenSafe through our Purses for Purpose event.

Angie, the owner of Yogi's Closet is a survivor of domestic violence herself and has been supportive of WomenSafe for over 10 years. We asked Angie how she felt about getting involved with the organization and she said: "I want every woman to know they don't need to feel ashamed, and there are supportive individuals out there who want to help you and support you through the healing process. Thank you so much to Angel Burton, Development Director pictured here, for collecting the purses and being an advocate for so many women."

WomenSafe has been working to stop the cycle of violence since 1980. Founded by a group of community activists determined to ensure that nobody has to live in fear, WomenSafe has served survivors of domestic violence throughout Northeast Ohio for over 40 years.

With the help of inspiring donors and community advocates, their free, life-saving services will continue to be available to those that need it most throughout the COVID-19 pandemic and beyond.
